HONOLULU – Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) announced today that it has donated $70,000 through its annual “Spring into Giving” campaign to support local organizations assisting individuals and families impacted by the recent Kona low storm flooding events.
“We understand the challenges many local families are facing in the aftermath of the Kona low storm floods, and recovery can take time,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State FCU. “Our employees came together to support trusted community organizations that are providing essential resources and assistance, and we are proud to stand alongside them during this critical time.”
Hawaii State FCU and its employees came together through the credit union’s annual “Spring into Giving” campaign, contributing $70,000 to support nonprofit organizations providing emergency shelter, food distribution, financial assistance, and long-term recovery services for those affected by the Kona low storm flooding events. The collective effort reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting Hawaii’s communities during times of need.
A total of 117 donations were made by 94 employees, demonstrating strong employee engagement in supporting the effort.
The funds will be distributed to the following organizations:
- $13,542 to Aloha United Way
- $11,175 to American Red Cross Hawaii Chapter
- $21,681 to Hawaii Foodbank
- $11,479 to Maui Food Bank
- $12,123 to The Salvation Army
In addition to these efforts, Hawaii State FCU continues to support members impacted by the Kona low storm flooding events through its Emergency Member Relief Program, which offers financial assistance options, including emergency loans, payment deferrals on eligible loans, and penalty-free withdrawals from term share accounts.
