John Katahira has served on the Hawaii State FCU Board of Directors since 2022. He has served as Treasurer and currently serves as Secretary and Chair of the HR and Compensation Committee. He is a retired civil engineer and owner of several businesses. John is also a proud graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he earned a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in civil engineering, as well as a Masters of Business Administration in business management.
John believes the credit union is an exceptional organization that provides life-changing financial opportunities for its employees, members, and the broader community. He also believes that the Hawaii State FCU Board has allowed him to use the skills he developed over his 28-year career to promote effective board governance and maximize Hawaii State FCU’s potential for our community by focusing on strong values and listening to member input.
