Darren Nakao has been a dedicated member of the credit union for 22 years. Darren joined the Board of Directors in 2024 where he serves on the Finance Committee and the HR & Compensation Committee, contributing his expertise to support the credit union’s financial strength and organizational growth.
As Executive Vice President and CFO at UHA Health Insurance for the past decade, Darren brings extensive experience across finance and accounting, underwriting, sales, HR, and operations.
Raised in Waipahu, he is a proud graduate of Iolani School and holds a degree in Mathematical Economics from Brown University. Married with three children, Darren is committed to advancing HSFCU’s mission of empowering financial wellness and supporting Hawaii’s community.
