Hawaii State FCU Donates $7,500 to Promote Homeownership in Hawaii

HONOLULU — Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) announced the donation of $7,500 to the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center (HHOC), Hawaii’s primary resource for residents seeking to become homeowners, many for the first time.

The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center works to advance the financial literacy of potential homeowners, so they can improve their credit scores and address barriers preventing them from qualifying for a mortgage. Services provided by the center include online and classroom courses, as well as individual counseling, on the homebuying process, mortgage qualification and debt management.

This marks the second year Hawaii State FCU is supporting HHOC in its mission to provide Hawaii residents the tools and knowledge needed to become an informed consumer and successful homebuyer.

“Supporting the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center gives Hawaii State FCU a unique opportunity to help kamaaina who are working toward successfully owning a home in Hawaii,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State FCU. “We are committed to building stronger families and communities throughout the state, which includes supporting organizations that guide and assist potential homebuyers with reaching their financial goals responsibly.”
