Hawaii State FCU Donates $20,000 to Friends of the Library of Hawaii in Support of 76th Annual Booksale

HONOLULUHawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) has donated $20,000 to the Friends of the Library of Hawaii in support of the 76th Annual Booksale, taking place now through July 20, 2025, at 200 Keawe Street in Kakaʻako Makai. The donation was presented ahead of the credit union’s exclusive Members’ Preview Night on July 11. The booksale’s public opening was on Saturday, July 12.

“Hawaii State FCU is proud to continue our commitment to Friends of the Library of Hawaii and the important work they do for our communities,” said Del Mochizuki, senior vice president and chief of staff at Hawaii State FCU. “Public libraries serve as gateways to education, discovery, and lifelong learning. Through events like the Annual Booksale, we’re able to support literacy programs and give back to the communities we serve.”

Hawaii State FCU has contributed more than $300,000 to Friends of the Library of Hawaii since becoming the title sponsor on the annual booksale in 2013. Over the years, the credit union has also helped raise more than $100,000 in booksale revenue through its Members’ Preview Night.

The 76th Annual Booksale features more than 125,000 books across every category, along with a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, comics, manga, and other rare finds.
