New branch marks completion of HMSA Employees’ Federal Credit Union merger
HONOLULU — Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) celebrated the grand opening today of its Keʻeaumoku Branch, located at 818 Keʻeaumoku Street at the base of the HMSA headquarters. The branch represents the final step in the successful merger with the HMSA Employees’ Federal Credit Union (HMSA EFCU), which was finalized earlier this year.
“The Keʻeaumoku Branch is a meaningful addition to our network because of its history as the home branch for HMSA employees and their families for more than 64 years,” said Reid Hinaga, senior vice president and retail delivery division manager of Hawaii State FCU. “Today we not only celebrate a new convenient branch for all of our members, but also the integration of HMSA EFCU into our Hawaii State FCU ʻohana. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to serving our members at this new location for many years to come.”
The 1,465-square-foot Keʻeaumoku Branch offers a full suite of Hawaii State FCU products and services in a modern, technology-driven space. Features include two Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) for fast and flexible self-service banking, live teller assistance, digital displays, a flexible office designed for transactions and one-on-one consultations, and a conference room that provides space for more in-depth financial planning discussions.
The grand opening of the Keʻeaumoku Branch marks the completion of Hawaii State FCU’s merger with HMSA EFCU, which was approved by members on Oct. 15, 2024 and finalized on Jan. 1, 2025. The merger added approximately 2,600 members and more than $50 million in assets to Hawaii State FCU, strengthening its position as one of the largest credit unions in the state. HMSA EFCU accounts were fully integrated into the Hawaii State FCU system on September 1, 2025.
The Keʻeaumoku Branch is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hawaii State FCU now has 15 convenient branches across Oahu and Maui. Membership is available to more than 500 local organizations, businesses, and all active and retired employees of the State of Hawaii, City and County of Honolulu, and Maui County.
