Mark Yamakawa has been a Hawaii State FCU member for over 28 years. He was elected to the Hawaii State FCU board in 2020, and has served as Board Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chair, and currently serves as Board Chair and Chair of the Nominating Committee.
Mark recently retired as senior vice president, health plan operations at Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA). Previous to HMSA, he retired as president and CEO of Hawaii Dental Service and formerly served in multiple executive roles at The Queen’s Health Systems including executive vice president and chief operating officer, president of Queen’s Development Corporation, and president of Queen Emma Land Company.
Mark also received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research from University of California, Berkeley and earned his M.B.A. from University of Hawaii, Manoa.
He currently serves on the boards of Hawaii Pacific Health, Iolani School, and Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.
